Francesca Finelli
Clinical Psychologist, BPsych, BSocSci (Hons) (Psych), MPsych(Clin)
Francesca’s career as a clinical psychologist has spanned 15 years, working predominantly in private practice, gaining extensive experience assessing and clinically treating a variety of psychological difficulties, such as anxiety, mood and trauma related disorders, across all age groups. Francesca delivers treatment with an individually tailored approach, is attachment and trauma informed, and employs a range of evidence based interventions such as CBT, Schema Therapy predominantly, ACT, Mindfulness, DBT, Somatic Therapy and CFT.
Francesca is known for her warm and gentle teaching approach whilst remaining attuned to her clients' emotional needs and values. She is particularly interested in assisting individuals to identify and reconstruct unhealthy belief systems stemming from past trauma that impacts behaviour, self-worth and relationships. Francesca believes in every individual’s inherent capacity to live a fulfilling and purposeful life despite inevitable challenges and is passionate about empowering people to think, behave and live congruently with their core values and flourish in every aspect of life.
Francesca places utmost importance on cultivating a respectful and safe space for individuals to explore their challenges whilst encouraging the development of self awareness, equipping clients with the strategies to overcome difficulties and empowering them to live a fulfilling and meaningful life.
Francesca has also had the privilege of working in a wide range of roles including being a regular guest panelist and content writer on the popular talk show “Be That” on Good TV across 5 seasons, as well as guest speaker at various seminars/conferences and conducting training workshops in a variety of professional, community and church environments. She has also had the opportunity to provide clinical supervision and complex trauma training for front line workers in the area of human trafficking rehabilitation based overseas.
Francesca is also a Board Approved Supervisor for provisional and early career psychologists. She has also participated in advanced training for Schema Therapy and has an interest in developing her skills further in this model. She is currently undertaking training in EMDR (eye-movement desensitisation and reprocessing therapy).
Francesca is also a wife and mother to two children.
